Career centres and career workshops

A career centre may be an alternative to an outplacement program if the company wishes to extend the departure of employees beyond several weeks.

When a number of staff are affected in one location we often use a career centre delivery strategy as it is the most cost effective and efficient process for providing the required services.

Based on our years of service delivery we have developed a flexible, participant-centred approach that helps to re-establish the participant’s career in the shortest possible time.

The Career Centre process allows individuals to book career transition support with our career coaches as required and to access the specific service each person needs, when she/he needs it.

Our experience with this approach is that if it is marketed effectively within the organisation, demand quickly builds up as staff ‘discover’ the service and appreciate how it can assist them.

Our Career Centres have been successfully implemented within many private and public sector organisations. They generate very effective outcomes and are widely supported by staff and management.


 
Inplacement

An alternative to downsizing and retrenchment, this program promotes an active partnership between employees and management to obtain the best possible 'fit' between staff and positions available while avoiding the need for expensive, often ineffective restructuring. Often this approach includes psychometric assessment of staff capabilities, career transition support and performance coaching to assist with the change in job role or position.

Career transition support

An onsite or offsite program which assists the employee to adapt to their new circumstances, helping them establish realistic career or job options and developing the knowledge and skills needed to find a new job.
