Government supplier status

Advantage Consulting Services, through its managing consultant, is registered with the Queensland Department of State Development as supplier of human resource development and business planning services.

As a registered supplier, our managing consultant has been assessed as demonstrating the capacity and experience to successfully meet the stringent requirements for registration as a consultant with State Development.

What does our being a Government supplier mean for your business?

The Queensland Government, through the Department of State Development, provides a range of programs to assist business.

One of these is the Queensland Industry Development Scheme (QIDS) program.

The QIDS program has been designed to help Queensland businesses maximise their growth by supporting projects that improve business performance. The Scheme, which has an interest in the development of educational institutions with export potential, supports Queensland’s value-adding firms and sectors to achieve five key objectives:

• enhanced business competitiveness
• increased exports or import replacement
• increased investment
• increased innovation and,
• better environmental management.

1. Projects are assessed on the following equally weighted criteria:
   • employment
   • export of or import replacement sales
   • new investment, or
   • profitability.
2. The applicant’s ability to manage and implement the project
   
3. The strategic importance of the project to the development of Queensland’s economy
   
4. The effectiveness of the project in helping the applicant accelerate the achievement of their strategic objectives
   
5. The applicant’s ability to match any approved funding on a dollar-for-dollar basis.

As part of the application process applicants complete a detailed project plan and a budget.

We can assist you with your proposal. Assistance provided to businesses under the program will be based on the individual activities and eligible costs they have detailed in their plan. Activities which may be funded include:

• contracting external (QIDS registered) consultants or additional internal salary costs
• purchasing data and other relevant information such as market research
• appropriate and reasonable travel and accommodation costs where they are essential tot he success of the project.

Once the project has been approved under the QIDS program, the Department will provide dollar-for-dollar assistance for costs directly related to the project. Eligible funds must be expended within twelve months.
